MS Boys have proficient weekend in Plano
Both Middle School Boys Blue and Black teams traveled north of the DFW metroplex to Plano once more for the Pre Nationals Tune Up tournament with an opportunity to gain some all-important momentum ahead of the Summer's final push.
MS Blue began the weekend with an early morning double digit win in a competitive pool. They would then fall to an Ellis County Elite team to finish the opening day of the tournament with an even 1-1 record.
MS Black was no stranger to taking home medals and trophies in Plano, with them already taking 2nd place in a recent tournament in the same location. Head coach Jeremy Tatum enjoys the ability to go into these events with his players having championship expectations.
"We want to build a culture of constant success. Especially with this middle school group, both boys and girls, this only grows the next generation of Ballers Nation. To be able to walk into any tournament or event and expect to compete at a championship level no matter the competition is what we love to see as a staff."
Blue ended up making it to the third place game on Sunday but ended up falling to an Ellis County Elite team after a tooth and nail affair. Black opened with two wins in Saturday, giving them first place in their pool. After a third pool play win an opening round loss would have them in the third place game. The team finished in third after a 15 point win.
