Junior Ballers sail to 2nd in Pine Tree

Pine Tree High School was the scene as the Junior Ballers took on a ten team field with the quest for gold in sight in the home of the Pirates. After the first early morning game, spirits were high. Head coach Elijah Coppock spoke on the team's progression as the Summer transpires. "I'm just proud of the work these kids have put in. 2nd to 6th graders overcoming fear and doubt, while trusting themselves to endure the process. Not just running up and down the court but understanding the game."

Despite their best efforts, they fell just short of victory in the championship game. Their tournament run ended with a heartbreaking buzzer sound, signalling the end of their incredible journey. Even in defeat, their accomplishments cannot be overshadowed. Even in defeat, Coppock saw plenty of signs of improvement, "[...]actually learning how to run high level sets and knowing how to adjust to defenses with those same plays."

"Yes they still have more to overcome, but they know getting better 1% each day is the goal," Coppock concluded.
